Sidney Bird Pays Tribute to Family with Release of Single, “Renaissance Man”

Photo Credited to Claudia Johnstone.

Born and raised in Arizona, Sidney now lives on the other side of the country in Brooklyn, New York! Technically New York City, right (let’s be real)?

Inspired by artists like Kacey Musgraves and Leon Bridges, Sidney holds her own, and is making her name known, in the western pop scene.

When she’s home in Arizona, she feels inspired and creates impulsively.

Before moving to Brooklyn and working with producers there, Sidney wrote all of her songs while she was home.

I grew up listening to Barenaked Ladies, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell. Then become obsessed with Katy Perry, Britney Spears – all the popstars.”

SIDNEY BIRD

Sidney’s background consists of comedy and musical theater.

This has fueled an extensive love for world-building and storytelling.

Sometimes I feel like I’m playing characters through my music, using them as a vehicle to express honest and genuine feelings.

Look out 2022, Sidney is coming and ready for you!

I wrote “Renaissance Man” after reflecting long and hard about my childhood and how my parents raised me. I feel so grateful that I have such amazing and supportive parents, and I aspire to be like them one day. Although I am not looking to have kids anytime soon, this song is about the children I wish to have one day, and a thank you letter to my wonderful parents.
