Universal Music Group held a press conference for Interscope Records artist, Morray, and I had the chance to be a part of it!
It’s completely different and surreal to be able to talk to an artist, hear their story, and see who they are as a person.
There wasn’t a dull moment in this press conference. Morray put a smile on my face and had me laughing the whole time.
It was such a honor and privilege to get to know him as an artist and what has shaped him as a person.
Morray is from Fayetteville, North Carolina and he was the lead singer of his church choir. This has heavily influenced his rapping and singing style.
His current single, “Quicksand” was released on October 30, 2020 and has broken 44 million streams on Spotify alone. His most recent project, ‘Street Sermons’ was released on April 28, 2021.
“Quicksand” racked up 10 million views on YouTube within a month catching the eye of J. Cole, Rick Ross, and DaBaby.
With almost 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Morray is going after and taking charge of his dreams.
His videos “Nothing Now”, “Can’t Use Me”, “Trenches”, “Quicksand”, “Kingdom”, and “Big Decisions” have racked up millions of views and continue to grow.
He has worked with 21 Savage and was featured on J. Cole’s single, “m y. l i f e”!
Morray is making history by continuing to work hard and make a name for himself.
I’m speaking for every person that has real emotions. I’m speaking to everyone that has a heart. Every song that you hear from me is a real feeling. I want people to cry with me. I want people to grow with me. I want people to understand where we’ve come from, and that we can always make it out of everything.
